Enrollment Notes: The Art Camp's enrollment process is fantastic because it's all automated! When you register again this year, you will automatically get a confirmation of the classes you choose for your child after you "submit" your application. Registration is OPEN NOW to all families!
LAUSD Families: Questions, our families will be asking:"We are an LAUSD family, and would like to register for Session 1, June 18th-July 13th, but we will be missing the first few days of camp since they get out on June 19th. Do you prorate? Should we still register for the first session if they'll be missing one or two days due to school?"
We understand that there are many families affected by LAUSD schools, ending late again this upcoming year. We will be adjusting the tuition and prorating those families that are attending LAUSD schools missing the first two days of camp. There is an LAUSD discount option, available for LAUSD families in the application that you may select. We will also be informing all the teachers of the following campers that will be arriving a week later into the program. They will be setting their curriculum to give all our campers the best summer camp experience for the first session as well.
Upper Camp Program: The Art Camp's "Upper Camp" program is for 7-11 year olds. Children in the Upper Camp have the flexibility of choosing 4 different classes to take throughout the day. If your child is younger than 7 years old, please check the ART CAMP 101 section of our website. If you have a child that is not quite 7 years old at the start of camp but is almost 7, please check out our "DaVinCheese group". Our DaVinCheese group is a transitioning group for children not yet 7, taking a preselected group of classes that are Upper Camp classes.
JCITs (12-13 year olds) & CIT's (14-15 year olds)
Want to train to be a counselor and join our wonderful staff? Then this is the program for you! Our CIT and JCIT program is one of the many great programs that the Art Camp has to offer. With these programs, teens have the opportunity to become leaders and learn how to work with children of all ages. This program provides teens with an extremely fun and educational leadership opportunity unlike any other! JCIT's are able to take 2 personal workshops classes, throughout the session. CIT's spend most of their day in the camper's workshops assisting throughout the day. Both JCIT's & CIT's under the leadership of our Teen Director, learn the skills necessary to become a camp counselor. All JCIT's & CIT's will receive first aid certification, leadership training that is offered weekly, conflict resolution, and will organize and implement special activities and events for our campers throughout the summer. Our whole Teen program creates an unbelievable bonding experience for everyone involved, friendships that last a lifetime, with an amazing opportunity to become a counselor!
