Whether your child is going to camp for the first time or has been going to for years, you probably have some questions. These FAQs answer the questions parents and campers ask most often. Do we get to eat what we make?
Yes! That's part of the fun. At the end of each class we will all share in the fruits of our labor as we taste all the great things we just made.

Do we ever get to take what we make home?
Yes! There will be times when you may not want to eat what you made and would like to take it home to share with your family. And sometimes we will have made more than we can eat.

When do I get my chef hat and chef apron?
You will get both of these items when you arrive for your first class on Monday. You will leave these in the kitchen or your locker everyday. Then after your last class on Friday you can take them home to use in your kitchen!

When do I get the class recipes?
Good question. Everyday, the recipes will be up on the board in the kitchen to follow easily and help the environment by eliminating paper waste. After your last class on Friday, you will be given a link to  all the recipes we made in class for the week which you can then access online.

Do I have to eat everything that we make?
No. If you find you do not like the taste of something we made in class, you do not have to eat it. You can, however, take it home to share with your family.

Can my mom or dad walk me in the first day?
Your mom or dad can walk you in any day they like.

What if I don't listen to the chef?
Our kitchen is a full commerical kitchen with knifes, hot stoves and ovens. Everyone in class must listen to the chef and follow instructions and directions. We all work as a group and if everyone listens, no one will accidently get hurt.

What if I am sick or if I miss a day?
If you are sick or know you will be gone, please have your mom or dad call the camp office and let us know you will be absent.
Sorry, there are no make-up days.

Full tuition and supply fees for the session(s) you have signed your child up for are due with your completed application.

What does my child have to bring to camp?
Please be sure to send your child to Cooking Camp with any kind of storage containers that have a seal tight lid, for example Tupperware or Dixieware (sold in all markets) please bring: 2 small - 1 medium -1 larger so the kids can bring all of their delicious creations home. If you send them in a Grocery bag with your child's name on it that'd would be great. If not we will still provide necessary "styrofoam" containers. What if my child is allergic to a certain food?
Please let us know in advance. We do not use peanut oil at camp, however we cannot provide or guarantee a nut-free environment. Please notify us if you child or teen has any food allergies.

What is your dismissal policy?
In order to provide a positive experience for all students, the Summer Art Academy maintains the right to dismiss any child. Cooperation and mutual respect are mandatory requirements of our program.
Parents of students dismissed or removed from camp for unsatisfactory behavior or conduct will recieve a refund equal to 50% of the unused tuition!

What if my child is attending camp alone?
If your child will be coming to cooking camp alone, please let us know and we will make every effort to introduce them to other young chefs. Our instructors will be advised as well.

What if my child wants to attend additional sessions?
If space is available, no problem. Simply call our office or go online to enroll.

What if my plans change or we miss a day, can I get a refund?
Should you withdraw from the sessioin 30 days prior to your first day, you will receive a full refund minus a $30 cancellation fee per child per session.
After that, there are no refunds. We do not offer refunds or make-up days if your child takes time off from camp, misses a day, takes a family vacation, gets sick, or anything else that requires time off from camp. Refunds will only be given if a class is canceled due to lack of enrollment.
