CHEDDER CHEESE GROUP
Parents, our "Chedder Cheese" group of 15 Campers
will particpate in all of the M/W/F workshops listed below.

FIRST WORKSHOP:
CARTOONING MADE EASY
This is a great basic workshop designed for our campers which will inspire them as well as easily teach them basic drawing skills using their favorite cartoon characters. We will work with pencils, crayons, watercolors, and pastels.

SECOND WORKSHOP:
CERAMICS

Clay is an exciting and magical material. In ceramics class children will learn the art and craft of clay while having fun and exploring their creativity. Ceramics is a unique pottery program offering a total hands-on experience while learning the techniques of shaping clay into Pinch Pots, designing and constructing Slab Projects, building unique Coil Vessels, Clay Decoration, and Glazing. Come learn the art and craft of clay, pottery has something enjoyable and challenging to offer for everyone. Your dishes will be lead free and safe to eat and drink from..

THIRD WORKSHOP:
YOGA
In this workshop, we’ll explore and discover the mind and body in inspiring, creative ways. Through animated poses, basic stretching and movement exercises, you’ll gain strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. Breathing and visualization techniques will teach you how to concentrate, relax and focus inward. The aim of the workshop is to stimulate the imagination, promote creative self-expression, instill self-respect and respect for others, and release energy. A typical class includes Breath Awareness, Sun Salutations, Standing and Sitting Poses, Stretching, and Relaxation. The integration of art, yoga games, and music add to the fun and adventure of this ancient practice.

FOURTH WORKSHOP:
FAIRYTALE THEATRE

All the fairy tale classics come together for this fun show – Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, the Three Little Pigs, and more! This class will include theatre games, singing, dancing, and acting, as children will be cast in a role and rehearsals will culminate in a performance.

FIRST WORKSHOP:
PARTY TIME!
Children around the world look forward to parties and celebrations with their friends, families and communities. In this workshop we learn a little about celebrations from around the world and do a related hands-on project. From Independence Day to Chinese New Year, we will party like the children do in many different parts of the world

SECOND WORKSHOP:
ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS

Animal Encounters is a hands-on workshop with live, kid-friendly animals. The campers get up close and personal with exciting new animals each day including snakes, lizards, furry critters, birds and more. In this fun and gentle learning environment, campers learn about the featured animals and then create their own art projects based around the animals that they met for the day. Projects can include learning about patterns from a tortoise's shell, painting the texture of a chinchillas fur or creating a parrot that balances on your finger. This workshop will be full of encounters to remember!

THIRD WORKSHOP:
THE ART OF BAKING

Get your hands in the flour, sugar and butter as we explore classic French baking techniques to make delicious sweet treats like cookies, cupcakes, muffins and danish from scratch. We also visit the savory side of baking with delicious quick breads and of course...........homemade PIZZA!!!

FOURTH WORKSHOP:
PENGUINS, PUPPIES, AND PORPOISES

Artcamp101 campers will love this fun class where we’ll learn to draw and paint simple animals while recognizing basic shapes. What could be more fun than an imaginary trip to the zoo?

FOURTH WORKSHOP:
TRASH TO TREASURE

Protect the environment and make something useful or special at the same time? Yup, it can be done and you can find out how in this workshop! Mac & Cheese boxes, stiff play dough, and old magazines are all given a second chance at life as a piece of eye pleasing art instead of being tossed out with the garbage Please keep your eyes out for an email a couple of weeks before camp begins. It will contain a "Treasure Hunt" list of recycled items for your camper to find or save from around the house and bring in on the first day of camp.
