CHEDDER CHEESE GROUP
Parents, our "Chedder Cheese" group of 15 Campers will particpate in all of the T/TH workshops listed below.
FIRST WORKSHOP:
MIX IT UP!
Youngest campers will have great fun exploring several different art media including tempera paint, oil pastel, watercolor, markers and paper collage. Basic art concepts and techniques are introduced while students learn to combine several art media together to create colorful and imaginative works of art. Shimmering flower gardens, rainbow collages, and "Kid Kandinskys" are but a few of the possibilities.

SECOND WORKSHOP:
CREATIVE STORYTELLING
Learn to draw and paint Cottys Creative Characters as their stories unfold on the wonderful and wacky whiteboard. We will use watercolors, pastels and other media to make out characters come alive!

THIRD WORKSHOP:
CERAMICS
Clay is an exciting and magical material. In ceramics class children will learn the art and craft of clay while having fun and exploring their creativity. Ceramics is a unique pottery program offering a total hands-on experience while learning the techniques of shaping clay into Pinch Pots, designing and constructing Slab Projects, building unique Coil Vessels, Clay Decoration, and Glazing. Come learn the art and craft of clay, pottery has something enjoyable and challenging to offer for everyone. Your dishes will be lead free and safe to eat and drink from.

FOURTH WORKSHOP:
ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS
Animal Encounters is a hands-on workshop with live, kid-friendly animals. The campers get up close and personal with exciting new animals each day including snakes, lizards, furry critters, birds and more. In this fun and gentle learning environment, campers learn about the featured animals and then create their own art projects based around the animals that they met for the day. Projects can include learning about patterns from a tortoise's shell, painting the texture of a chinchillas fur or creating a parrot that balances on your finger. This workshop will be full of encounters to remember!

JUNIOR VAN GOO
Express yourself in the most fun way using paint, chalk, clay & goo! See the world thru the eyes of an artist. Shapes, colors and numbers in nature inspire artists and you!

In this class you will learn to make easy delicious food to take to school like simple sandwich roll ups, homemade granola, and ways to make desserts mobile. After this class you will be able to help your Mom or Dad pack lunches that they will want to take to work.

FOURTH WORKSHOP:
DANCIN MACHINES
This class will focus on basic dance movements and combinations from a variety of dance styles including modern, jazz, ballet, and hip hop. Young dancers will have an opportunity to explore movement through warm-ups, stretching, and across the floor patterns. Campers will also develop their performance and choreography skills.

FIRST WORKSHOP:
CREATIVE MOVEMENT AND DANCE
Through creative movement Art Camp 101 students will explore the dance elements space, time, rhythm, and line. Through movement and music we will create together original dance pieces to be performed on stage!
