BEGINNING DRAMA AND IMPROV!
This fun-filled energetic class offers theatre arts and creative dramatics with emphasis on improvisation and original story drama. K Campers will participate in the creative process by traveling across the universe and creating an "Outer Space" themed piece at the end of the camp session. This workshop is designed to enhance each child's creative process while encouraging independent thinking and group cooperation. Original music adds to the fun!

CREATIONS IN CLAY
In this ceramic workshop we will study the styles of well known artists and then create our own unique variations in clay. Henry Moore, Georgia Okeefe, and Alexander Caulder are just a few of the artists that will be our inspiration as we create wonderful projects. Different glazes and techniques will be incorporated into this workshop.
Instructor: Mary
FABRIC ART: SAFARI ADVENTURE!
Learn how to combine, glue, and embellish African Folklore designs with a selection of fabrics and beads. You will have a choice of over ten different designs from which to choose: animals, flowers, village scenes or sea life. K Campers will learn how to do incorporate strings of beads, necklaces and other fibers, textures into their design. The end result is a true Africian fiber artwork! Leora Raikin, instructor for this class, has exhibited her work at museums and fiber art shows across the country.

WOODWORKING
In collaboration with Side Street Projects, this workshop teaches K Campers the safe and effective use of hand tools through a hands-on experience. These workshops are held in brightly-colored "mobile" studios that house 10 woodworking stations custom made for children. Each station is equipped with hand-tools, adjustable workbenches, supplies and materials: everything needed to create dozens of woodworking projects that increase in complexity as K Campers develop their creative problem solving skills.
Take me on a video tour of the bus!

TRASH TO TREASURE
Protect the environment and make something useful or special at the same time? Yup, it can be done and you can find out how in this workshop! Mac & Cheese boxes become hand puppets, outgrown or stained clothes become... well, if you want to know, you will have to join us where we take things that would probably be tossed in the garbage and turn them into something new instead.
