Parents, each of our 4 "Little Cheese" groups for 5 to 6 1/2 year olds,
will particpate in all of the T/TH workshops listed below!

ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS
Animal Encounters is a hands-on workshop with live, kid-friendly animals. The campers get up close and personal with exciting new animals each day such as snakes, lizards, furry critters, parrots, farm animals, and more! In this fun and gentle learning environment, campers learn about the featured animals and then create their own art projects based around the animals that they met for the day. Projects can include recreating patterns from a tortoise's shell, painting the texture of a chinchilla's fur or creating a parrot that balances on your finger. This workshop will be an encounter to remember!

MUSEUM ART: MICHAELANGELO TO PICASSO!
Welcome to the age of the Renaissance, where some of the most influential artists of our time will be explored! From Michelangelo’s frescos, to Monet’s Plein Air Art, students will closely examine the technique and style behind each artist and will get to recreate their very own masterpiece. After the Renaissance, we will move on to Contemporary Art, where Picasso will dazzle us with his abstract and cubist creations. Our young artists will discover a world of colors, textures and a bit of art history. A portfolio will be taken home at the end of the session where campers will be able to continue their adventures in art.

MARDI GRAS MAMBO!
It's carnival time! Our campers and Chef Shanita will cook her New Orleans favorites including Bread Pudding, Red Beans and Rice, and Crepes. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

LITTLE ART STUDIO
Little hands, growing masters! In this class we will start off by learning five basic shapes and use them to break down pictures. Campers will easily learn to draw and interpret details in any way they wish! As a result every camper will get a realistic interpretation of the subject we'll be painting for the day and every drawing will be creatively different!

workshops listed below but with a different teacher AND a different workshop assistant for each block!

9:00 - 10:10 FIRST WORKSHOP:
ACRYLIC PAINTING
Acrylic paint is a very versatile medium. It can be used in thin washeslike watercolors or in thicker strokes similar to oils but with a quicker drying time. Acrylic painting introduces the beginning art student to the basics from how to handle the paint and its tools to introducing techniques used by professional artists to produce beautiful paintings. Subjects range from traditional landscapes to funky still life and modern art.

10:35 - 11:45 SECOND WORKSHOP:
ROCK N' DANCE!
Rock and Dance is a fun dance class that fuses jazz and street dance to rockin' music! Campers will learn the fundemental elements of movement in a fun and energetic envorionment! Campers will learn a street style choreographed piece to perform at the end of the session!

12:45 - 1:55 THIRD WORKSHOP:
CHEM LAB!
WOW! Physical reactions are so…yesterday! Let's mix it up and see what happens! Lots of safe chemistry experiments to boggle your mind! Watch physical and chemical reactions and what makes them work. Observe liquid Nitrogen, make your own desiccator, grow alum and copper sulphate crystals, get ready for an instant snowstorm, and some Green Power science! All reactions are done outdoors and students wear protective goggles.

PARTY TIME!
Wish everyday could be a party? Your wish has come true! Come join us for a fantastic class where YOU will be the life of the party! Come and learn to make invitations, party favors, some easy tableside treats and play fun party games! Don’t miss out this summer, because the last class of the session will be THE BEST PARTY EVER!.
